Holiday Prep

This holidays can be a joyous time for many but sometimes stressful. Here are some tips and tricks from Yes-Homes to make it a little easier this holiday season!

If you’re like me then you love the smell of fresh Christmas trees in the house. These trees come with some steps to keep them looking beautiful.

Make sure the stand is the proper size because whittling the tree down will dry it out. Once in the stand it is time to water right away. The cut part of the tree should stay below the water line the entire time you have it.

Keep the tree cool as if it was still in the forest. It isn’t used to extreme sunlight!

Once the tree is up make it a family activity to decorate with festive music playing. It doesn’t have to be a tedious chore if everyone joins in.

When it comes to the rest of decorating for the holidays you can also use fallen tree branches as garland around the home.

If you celebrate Hanukkah there are some great Do-It-Yourself menorah ideas or try a hanging Hanukkah calendar with a gift to unwrap after each night.

Presents can also take on a DIY spin like teacup candles!

The number 1 thing to keep in mind is to enjoy it.

Don’t push yourself to hang more lights or put a 6 foot tall blow up Santa in the front yard. This is a time for celebration and joy.
