Our Yes-Homes ladies are known for their love of red. On Friday, February 5th, they will wear it for a very special cause. February 5th is the National Wear Red Day for heart disease awareness.
Heart disease is the number 1 killer of women. It may not be as notorious as cancer but it is still a serious threat. There are many myths out there about heart disease and its effects on women.
It can affect women of all ages. Be aware of any family history and stay on top of cholesterol levels. The American Heart Association reccommends getting cholesterol checked as early as age 20.
64% of women don’t show symptoms. A heart attack isn’t just chest pain but can also be shortness of breath, nasea, and back or jaw pain.
The best way to beat heart disease is to stay one step ahead. Ask your doctors questions if you have concerns, do research on healthy ways to live. And at the very least help raise awareness for a disease that affects good men and women everywhere.
Join the Yes-Homes ladies on Friday and wear your favorite red outfit!
